Good gosh, where to begin?
It’s incredibly hard to lose someone, and I’m finding it’s also extra hard to see the pain and heartbreak of the people around me who cared so much for Ricky. He was loved by a lot of people, and I hope he knows that.
I was very fortunate to have gotten to chat with him in person, and he was a very nice guy and I always saw a smile on his face. He had a very sharp and witty sense of humor and we saw that sense of humor in his webcomic 1930 Nightmare Theatre on Dumm Comics. That comic was just amazing to me- it was like it had escaped time, and existed on it’s own plane. Everything about it was sharp, and that’s one of the things that made it so special.
Ricky was an amazingly talented artist, and it’s heartbreaking he’s gone. I’m very sad that he is no longer with us, and I hope he’s up in the cosmos, kicking ass, and being the awesome person that he is.
We miss you, Ricky!
If you’ve not yet checked out Ricky Garduno’s comic 1930 Nightmare Theatre, please go do so. It’s more of an adult themed comic sometimes, so just a heads up. You can also read them from the start :D
