what do you use to make your art? i mainly draw/ink traditionally, and color/rework in photoshop but i also draw with my graphire tablet in photoshop. id like to get my mitts on a cintiq someday. i have a lot of really cool brushes i find, or i am given by friends.

who/what are your influences? i have a lot of influences and i’m always seeing new things that stick with me. also, a lot of cool stuff i see on tumblr can influence my art. i reblog a lot of it here. i love to learn from others! my friends also influence me too! some of the major influences in my work are: kyle a. carrozza (my bestest friend ever and he is a major influence on my style and has taught me a lot!), zoë moss, lindsay smith, samantha krause, samy erdini, jack cusumano, kali fontecchio, nico colaleo, katie rice, gabe swarr, elena and olivia ceballos, stephen silver, vera brosgol, lois van baarle, natasha allegri, ricky garduno, erin hunting, brianne drouhard, becky & frank, katie mitroff, elsa chang, james robertson, and so many more. i also gush about the beauty of mary blair, gil elvgren, and drew struzen as well. i follow a lot of people on tumblr and their work is so amazing and it’s like sprinkling the multi-color glitter on my brain. i loves it.
do you go to art school? i did. i have two degrees in animation that supplement what i’m focusing my learning on right now, and i’ll never stop learning.
can you recommend a good art school? that all depends on what you want to do or focus on. There are a lot of options for learning specific things or you can get a broader education. i will gladly chat with you about that if you like! drop me a line, or ask.

what do you want to be when you don’t grow up? I love being an artist and i would love to continue working on things of that nature. i am currently an animatic cleanup artist and storyboard revisionist here in the los angeles area and i am also currently assisting with backgrounds on the dumm comic frog raccoon strawberry, and doing some periodic freelance work.
what do you enjoy doing? i really enjoy coloring stuff in photoshop. i do it for fun, i get paid to do it, and some of my coloring work has been seen in the q pop gallery in little tokyo. it brings back the feeling of joy i had when i was a kid, and got a brand new coloring book and some crayons.
what is your favorite karaoke song? currently my favorite go-to song is gypsies, tramps and thieves by cher.
whats your favorite sushi? i’m new to sushi, but i had an excellent rainbow roll the other week, and it was very good. i also enjoy the old standby the california roll. tuna and spicy tuna rolls are also good.
what is your favorite thing to do in los angeles? karaoke and meals/movies with friends always makes me happy.
what else is fun? i like watching the police helicopters from our apartment windows. it’s extra fun when they have the spotlight on.
what do you talk about? survey says: back to the future and weird al.
coke or pepsi? coca-cola.
biggest pet peeve? it’s people pronouncing ‘gouache’ as ‘go-shhh’ or ‘goash’ instead of ‘gwash’.
what’s ‘more awesome than mars’? i picked up that phrase from my good friend zoë who referred to me as ‘more awesome than mars’. zoë is made of amazing and awesome and awesome amazing!
